Festive Styling at Anthony John

You know when you find the perfect hairdressers and it becomes a treat to visit? Yeah well that happened to us a few years ago when Anthony John Salons opened at The Heart of the Country near Lichfield. It is such a lovely relaxed salon with some of the best stylists around. So when Tony the owner asked me to do the Christmas styling this year I was over the moon. The salon is located in a converted barn with two mezzanine levels so it was a dream to style.

I wanted to retain the gorgeous decor whilst making it as twinkly and festive as possible so I wanted to go for lots of greenery and white accents. This was my Pinterest inspiration. Pop over and see what else I have been pinning.

There are lots of windows in the salon so I wanted to make contemporary wreaths to go at each one. I was really pleased with the way these turned out. The staff were desperate for a real tree! So I had to give them what they wanted and I made some simple white paper bunting to decorate it.

Because of the size of the salon it was important that I made large scale wreaths, which I loved making to create a big impact. The other aspect that I wanted to consider was the height of the ceilings. I really wanted the ceiling space to be filled so I opted for white paper lanterns which we suspended on fishing wire. These have made a huge difference and a focal point as you walk in.

The other area that needed styling was the fabulous Balcony area where clients relax whilst waiting for their colour to develop and drink a glass of something cold or a warming latte. This is my favourite space in the salon and I wanted to make people feel Christmassy whilst they sat up there. The simplicity of using holly but glitzing it up with a sparky rose gold runner worked really well.

It was  a huge challenge to do especially as there are so many areas and such large spaces to fill but I am really pleased with the results and even more pleased to know that Anthony John’s clients have commented on how much they like it. Thats the best bit.

Merry Christmas to you all! xx
