It’s finally here!! Well not really as its still only June but the minute the sun shines I like to start thinking about Summer styling. Nothing says Summer weddings more to me than big blousey blooms, cow parsley and pretty pinks.
I love outside dining in the summer months and an Al Fresco wedding is even better. Imagine filling a field or woodland with rustic trestle tables like I have used here, the sun on your faces, simple styling and the sound of all your guests having an amazing time. For this styling I was inspired by my trip to Petersham Nurseries in Richmond. The styling there is breathtaking, using the outside as an influence constantly and allowing the pieces that they have to do the talking. My starting point was this old wooden door used as a table and everything followed from there.
I love it when the colours all work so effortlessly together, the soft pink from the IKEA plate matches the Peony perfectly and the soft grey featured in the Katie Alice Rustic Lace side plate works so well with the vintage stone pot that the roses are in. As you will see in the first image I have used some fun IKEA envelopes, which can be used to hold the menu or a favour but add a bit of a summery tropical feeling and pick out the green from the plants too. I have finished it all off with a bit of warm copper in the cutlery, circle bunting as a runner and copper candle – well we are hoping that you will be sat there late into the warm summers night so candles are a must. When you have a background of a chippy painted aged table you don’t need much else to detract from it and the Peony does the job as the favour & name card all in one.
So whether you are holding a garden party and want something a little different or have an outdoor wedding in your sights I hope you use these ideas to help you create the perfect summer setting. xx
