Well hello! This blog hasn’t been far from my mind over the last few weeks but I literally haven’t stopped so I am taking a moment to reflect….
I was scrolling through my pictures the other day, I really should delete some as they are all backed up but I love looking back and I love that they are always there for me. So many memories in my phone and I’m always amazed at what has been crammed into one year. The images that really made me think however was my November Styling the Seasons entry from last year. I vividly remember sitting on my sofa and finding out that I had won the competition to win a trip to Emily Quinton‘s workshop!!! I actually nearly weed myself….
I think this was the moment that propelled me into believing that I could do this, I think confidence is the most important thing in this world and realising that other people have that belief in you too is key. Since that day and since my visit to London in January so much has changed and happened and for that I am truly grateful. Its funny looking back now that when I was sat in Emily’s studio chatting about our plans I told everyone in the room that I wanted to be a full time stylist and give up my teaching career!! I suppose if you make bold statements in front of witnesses you have no choice but to go through with it!
For me though, the most magical part of this journey is the people that I have met along the way. I have just spent the last few weekends at events and honestly met the most wonderful people. Whether its the wedding industry, the styling industry or the vintage world the people are warm and friendly and as for the general public, I couldn’t have wished for better. So many connections, lovely chats and friendships made. I flipping love it!!! Bring on more.
