Styling the Seasons – April

So! here we are, April is nearly over and another month has whizzed past. I didn’t do a Styling the Seasons post in March and it felt weird! I was waiting to get this website up and running so that all new blog posts are on here. I won’t get rid of my other Blog just yet as it reminds me of all of the lovely things I have done over the last year.

The last few months has been a roller coaster, deciding to leave work, starting up my business, creating the website, working behind the scenes with fab people, buying vintage treasure and all of this leading up to my BIG 40!!!!! As you may know my birthday was on Wednesday and I had a really lovely day. My family and friends made it very special and now I have a trip to London and a 4 day break in Marbella to look forward to along with lots of lovely presents. A lucky girl for sure.

I wasn’t completely sure how I was going to bring all of this together into my #stylingtheseasons post until I visited my mum last weekend. When I was one my Mum and Dad planted a Cherry Blossom tree in their garden so it blooms every year on my birthday. Every year for the last 39 years I have had my photo taken standing next to that tree!! Awwww how cute xx So, I gathered some of the blossom to bring home and as my mum is a fantastic gardener I also came away with some gorgeous tulips too. That was it, the vision….

Now, I have always said that all of the best people are born in April and when The Queen is one of them you can’t be wrong! I decided on a party theme for my styling using some of the many meters of bunting I have for weddings, pom poms and vintage embroidered tablecloths. I have also been collecting old windows for another wedding I am styling and my new glass pen arrived so I had to have a play with a spot of window illustration! I love it. My photography has become a lot cleaner and crisper recently and these items really pulled all that together.

Since discovering Styling the Seasons last year I have absolutely loved spending time every month thinking about what that month means to me. It is a real pleasure to be part off and you can too with Katy @aptapothecary and Charlotte @lottsandlots on Instagram.

I hope you had a happy April too xx
