Styling the Seasons – May
So! Its been a busy old month. Since the launch of the website I have spent pretty much every day focused on stock, sourcing it, styling it and recycling it! It has been a huge learning curve and lots of brain hurting late nights but I have loved every minute of it – even the never ending brown tape and box reconstruction!! NOT. During this process one of my lovely friends and mentors – Allison Sadler – The People Shop has conjured up a new and wonderful hashtag #freestylecreativeliving this is so perfect for me right now and has really struck a chord. Allison is encouraging us to live creatively and do what makes us happy, I am all for that and I can categorically say that I have never felt happier. ‘Mighty oaks from little acorns grow’ and all that and I truly believe that once you start to believe you can do something everything else starts to come together.
My styling the seasons post this month was inspired by two very clever and inspiring ladies @lisapocklington and @b.cdesignstudio. Lisa is a fabulous stylist, maker and lover of flowers and is working on a new business called ‘The Lovely Flower Studio’ which I can’t wait to see!!! One of Lisa’s latest Instagram images was where she had used gorgeous Clematis in the house and I loved it, don’t know why I had never thought of it before!
Hannah & her husband own a fab wedding stationary and creative paper studio Bonny and Clyde . Hannah contacted me a while ago and asked if I would like one of their prints. Of course I said yes and I was so pleased as it came and I loved it. ‘We all have dreams dear, Ive got plans’ I couldn’t believe how apt this was for me right now and so I had to use it in my workroom to keep me motivated on the days where it is lacking!
So with a little bit of handmade mini bunting using up some of my beautiful vintage french fabric and my trusty Tiger Stores wire house I got styling. I also couldn’t be without Washi Tape – it is a godsend!
I love the way bringing nature into the home really transforms a space and I will be looking out for more things that I can use to style up the house. Thank you very much Lisa and Hannah xxx
So, that is May almost over and another exciting and productive month done with. There is so much more to come, June is pretty crazy!! And I for one CANNOT WAIT!!
Don’t forget to get involved with Styling the Seasons – joining @apartmentapothecary and @lottsandlots on Instagram or through your blog to share what that month means to you.
