Styling Vintage Paper
So! What makes a house a home? For each of us it will be something different, some people aren’t bothered with decor providing they have somewhere to live and sleep and that’s absolutely fine. For others it’s about buying the more expensive things or the current trends and again, each to their own. For me though, our house is an extension of our personality and the experiences that we have shared. I could tell exactly where we got something, what we paid for it and the story surrounding it. It’s not enough for me to just put a picture on a wall, it needs to have history and I also need to be able to switch and change regularly so as not to get bored.
This is why I love paper products. Vintage postcards, tickets, seed packets, old botanical prints from a charity shop book, I love them all! And what’s more they are relatively cheap and so I can change them whenever. These items can be added to your walls or mantelpiece really easily with washi tape or just blue tac. You can put them in frames and create a quick gallery wall or string them into garlands. They are so versatile and I love that I can alter the mood of a room this immediately and can change with the seasons. Try it ~ you might like it!
Here’s some inspiration from my house…
