I don’t believe in any wedding being ‘on trend’ as each couple want something individual and unique to them however just like fashion there is no getting way from some trends and so here is my low down on whats to come this year.

Pantone Colour of the Year - Green

There is no secret of the fact that Green is the IN colour at the moment. Whilst its not my favourite colour I am a little obsessed with plants and I absolutely love the use of deep greens and house plants here in this amazing installation. Two of my weddings this year will involve a lot of greenery both in very different ways and I can’t wait.

Large scale hanging flowers and plants look amazing and create a huge focal point. A wedding I am doing later this year will be very similar to this but with a more glamorous sparkly twist.

This isn’t a new idea but one that fits into the theme of greenery very well and gives your guests a real life ‘life’ to remember your special day by.

Greenhouse Wedding

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I finally visited Petersham Nurseries in Richmond last week and it was better than my expectations. Imagine my delight when I discovered they host weddings there too!!!! Please please someone hire me to style their wedding there…….. xxxxx

Petersham Nursery

Prior to my visit I had been pinning lots of other greenhouse/glasshouse weddings and this idea I think will be huge this year. I am lucky enough to be styling a wedding at Sutton Bonington Hall this year which has a gorgeous conservatory attached with vines growing up the wall and its going to be beautiful. Also if you dig this vibe and you haven’t found your venue yet then check out botanical gardens near to you as many of them now have wedding licenses and they are a fantastic backdrop.

Miami Vice

Bear with me on this one! I LOVE bright pink with green and the feel of holidays in a wedding. This has been done so well in these Pinterest images I have put together and it would work equally as well in a barn setting or marquee. Imagine though, finding an Art Deco building and going full steam into Don Johnson, white suits and rolled up sleeves!!! You don’t have to go the whole hog but that injection of colour is amazing at creating the WOW factor.

So, 3 different schemes that will certainly have your guests talking about your day for a long time. But don’t forget your day is just that ‘Your Day’ so please have what you want and make it personal to you. The very first thing I ask my clients is what they LOVE and how they want to incorporate that into the theme. Your guests are there because they love you and want to see your personality shining through. Don’t get carried away!!! Only if you want to of course!
